Know every product inside and out — match the right solution to every merchant situation.

    💳 Cash Discount / Zero-Fee Processing
Your #1 opener — merchants pay $0 in processing fees

With cash discount, merchants post two prices — a cash price and a card price. The card price covers the processing fee (3–4%). The merchant nets the same on every transaction regardless of payment type. Their monthly processing bill: zero.

100% Legal in All 50 States
    Key Selling Point

A business doing $30K/month saves $900–$1,200/month in fees. That's up to $14,400/year back in their pocket — with zero change to their revenue.

    🏆 Clover Advantage Program
Offer Clover hardware at $0 or reduced cost to net-new merchants

Removes the upfront hardware barrier for new merchants. A portion of your residual is offset until the hardware cost is recovered — after that, your full split resumes.

    🗣️ Scripts & Objection Handling

Word-for-word scripts for every stage of the sales process.

    📞 Cold Walk-In Opener
Use when walking into a business cold for the first time
    You say:

"Hi, is the owner or manager available? I'm [Name] with Merchant1 Solutions — we work with small businesses across Texas helping them eliminate or significantly reduce their card processing fees. I want to take just 2 minutes to show you what we're doing for other businesses in your area. Is now a good time or would later this week work better?"

    Why it works

You're not asking if they want to hear a pitch — you're assuming interest and giving two options. You lead with the benefit (save money), not the product. Always.

    💬 Rate Beat Guarantee Pitch
When they say "I already have a processor"
    You say:

"That's great — most of our best customers came from another processor. Here's what I'd like to do: we have a $500 rate beat guarantee. Show me your last processing statement, and if I can't beat your current rate, I'll write you a $500 check on the spot. No obligation to switch. What do you have to lose?"

    Key move

The guarantee flips the risk from them to you. Now they have nothing to lose by showing you the statement — and you can let the numbers close the deal for you.

    🛡️ Objection Handling — All 8 Scenarios
Click each objection to see the exact response
    You say:

"That's great — most people I talk to feel that way until we compare. I'm not asking you to switch today. Just let me pull up your last statement and show you what you're actually paying. If there's no savings, I walk out and never bother you again. Fair?"

    Key move

Don't argue. Acknowledge and pivot to getting the statement. Numbers close deals — not words.

    You say:

"Of course. Can I ask — what specifically are you thinking through? Is it the switch itself, the equipment, the service charge for card customers, or something else? [Listen.] Got it — so if I can address that, are you ready to move forward?"

    Key move

"I need to think about it" almost always hides a specific objection. Ask what it is directly. Then address that — not the general hesitation.

    You say:

"When does that end? [Listen.] Perfect — I'll reach out 60 days before that. In the meantime, let me show you what you'd be saving so when that day comes, you know exactly who to call. Can I get your email?"

    CRM action

Add them as a New Lead and set a follow-up for 60 days before contract end. These leads close consistently because the timing is built in.

    You say:

"Completely understand — nobody wants more on their plate. Here's the thing: I handle everything. I set it up, train the staff, and I'm your local contact if anything ever goes wrong. Most businesses are live in 3–5 business days with zero downtime. You don't do anything except say yes."

    You say:

"I hear that a lot — and I'd feel the same way. The reason we can do this is cash discount. Instead of you absorbing the processing fee, card customers pay a small service charge. It's the same model gas stations have used for years. Completely legal, card-network compliant, required disclosures built into the terminal. Let me pull up a demo right now."

    You say:

"That's the most common concern — and it almost never plays out that way in practice. Less than 1% of businesses we've set up see real pushback. Customers are used to this everywhere now. And cash customers actually get the better price, which they love. Your regulars aren't going to stop coming in over a few cents."

    You say:

"Absolutely — decisions like this are always better together. When are you both here at the same time? I'd love to come back and go through it with both of you. Would [specific day] work, or is another day better?"

    Never accept a vague follow-up

Get a specific day and time before you leave. "I'll reach out next week" is not a follow-up plan — it's a dead deal.

    You say:

"I'm sorry to hear that — and honestly, that's exactly why I'm here. I'm local. If something goes wrong, you're not calling a 1-800 number and waiting on hold. You call me directly and I handle it. What happened with your last processor? [Listen and address the specific issue.]"

    Key move

Get specific about what went wrong. Then explain specifically how that wouldn't happen with M1S. Don't make general promises — give specific answers to specific problems.

    💰 Business Funding Program

Refer merchants for Business Cash Advances and earn a commission on every funded deal.

What Is a Business Cash Advance?
A fast, flexible funding option based on sales history — not credit score

A Business Cash Advance (BCA) lets a merchant receive a lump sum in exchange for a small percentage of their future daily sales. Repayment is automatic — pulled from card volume each day. No fixed monthly payment, no collateral required.

    Who Qualifies?
Quick screening checklist before referring a merchant
    • In business at least 6 months
    • $10,000+ average monthly revenue (last 3 months)
    • Separate business bank account
    • No active open bankruptcy
    • No more than 1 existing advance position
    • No pattern of excessive NSFs in bank statements
    Red Flags to Watch For

Multiple existing advance positions (stacking), frequent negative bank balance days, or business open less than 6 months. Don't refer if multiple red flags apply.

    How to Refer a Merchant
    The process takes 5 minutes
    1
    Mention It
Ask if the merchant needs capital. Simple opener: "Do you ever need fast access to cash for your business?"

    Get Paid
Once the deal funds, you earn a referral commission. Contact Emerson for commission details.
    Conversation Starter Script
Add this to your merchant conversations — especially with businesses you've already boarded
    You say:

"Hey [merchant name], one more thing while I'm here — we recently launched a business funding program. If you ever need quick access to cash for inventory, equipment, slow seasons, or expansion, we can get businesses like yours $5K–$500K based on their sales history. It's not a loan — it's based on what your business already earns. No collateral, no fixed monthly payment. Approval in 24–48 hours. Would it be worth a 5-minute conversation?"

    Best opportunities

Seasonal businesses, restaurants before peak season, merchants expanding to a new location, businesses mentioning slow months or cash flow concerns. These are your warmest funding referrals.

    ❓ FAQ

Common questions from agents. Can't find your answer? Call Emerson.

    Boarding & Submissions
Go to /onboarding on this portal and complete the pre-application. Emerson will review it and send the merchant a click-to-sign agreement. After the merchant signs, the application is submitted through CoPilot for boarding. Track status in CoPilot.
Standard boarding takes 2–5 business days once all documents are complete and signed. Equipment ships within 24–48 hours of approval. High-risk merchants or incomplete applications may take longer.
Yes — $34.95/month per MID is required on every merchant account that includes a Clover device (hardware or software only). Applications without it will be rejected at boarding. It's separate from the software plan.
Dejavoo terminals can often be reprogrammed. Clover devices are tied to the processor — merchants need a new Clover device when switching. Square, Toast, and other proprietary systems cannot be reused on our network.
Match to merchant type: Payments ($0) for basic acceptance only. Essentials ($29.95) for inventory + reporting. Restaurant Growth ($89.95) for FSR/QSR. Retail/Services Growth ($84.95) for retail and service businesses. Additional devices at $11.95–$19.95/mo each.
    Cash Discount & Compliance
Yes — 100% legal in all 50 states and compliant with Visa, Mastercard, and Amex rules. It must be presented as a cash discount (rewarding cash), not a credit card surcharge. Our terminal setup and signage handle all compliance requirements.
Card network rules require dual pricing signage at the point of entry and point of sale. We provide compliant signs with every setup. The terminal also shows the fee at checkout before the customer approves.
Backup withholding occurs when the merchant's legal name and Tax ID don't match IRS records. A percentage of their deposits is withheld and sent to the IRS. Prevent it by verifying the legal name and EIN/SSN match exactly before submitting. If a merchant receives a B-Notice, contact Emerson immediately.
    Commissions & Residuals
Standard split is 50% to you / 50% to Merchant1 Solutions. Higher splits are available as your portfolio grows. Contact Emerson directly to discuss your commission structure.
Residuals are paid monthly, typically between the 15th and 20th of each month for the prior month's processing volume. Your first residual typically arrives 45–60 days after your first merchant goes live.
Yes — for as long as the merchant continues processing with us. There is no expiration. Even if you stop submitting new accounts, your active merchants keep generating monthly income. Building your portfolio early matters enormously.
Log into CoPilot and navigate to your residual report. You'll see line-item detail — exactly what each merchant generated and how your split was calculated.
